Engraved Mesopotamian idol

BDIV360/2

New product

A superb reproduction of an engraved Mesopotamian idol, the original of which dates back to 4000 BC. This type of idol was frequently used as a votive offering and also served as a portable amulet in ancient Mesopotamia (especially when small).
This one represents the human figure in abstract form, with only the presence of two eyes symbolising the ability to see or communicate with the deities. Hand-carved in sandstone by our craftsmen in our workshops, it has been given a patina to give it the character of the period.
