Our world is populated by angels, cherubim, seraphim, and we often remain unaware of it. The seraphim are the closest to God. The seraphim have six wings, and they are so close to God that they are ablaze with divine love's light. This is why the word seraphim means "the burning ones." It is said that an angel is there to welcome us on the day of our birth and accompanies us throughout our life until our death. This is the guardian angel. But he is not alone. We are surrounded by myriads of angels, archangels, and seraphim who are present in all the events of human life. They accompany, watch over, and help humans in their earthly tasks. The seraphim are therefore envoys, messengers, intermediaries between God and men; they form the link between heaven and earth.
As you might have guessed, this ex-voto represents a seraphim. It has been sculpted in sandstone by our artisans and is presented on a museum-style base. It will undoubtedly adorn the Cabinet of Curiosities of an esoteric art enthusiast!
