New product

Joseph is an Indian Chief from the Nez-Percés tribe who became famous during the 1877 leading his people into a merciless battle against the American army who’d forced him to leave his ancestral grounds in North-West Oregon.

He was greatly admired by his opponents and the American public for his political skills and his relentless unwillingness to abandon his land. Over the years, Joseph went several times to Washington D.C to plead his cause: the return of his tribe to their territory, alas, without success. He gave talks, right up until the end of his life, hoping the public would rally to his cause.

His portrait was done by Edward.S.Curtis, one of the main anthropologist studying Native Americans. Curtis left numerous texts, audio recordings and photos witnessing the life and history of more than 80 tribes.
