The Mongs are a people of Tibetan-Burmese origin. About 10% live in Thailand and the rest in Burma. Their cotton garments, traditionally woven by hand, are the same for both males and females, distinguished only by length, colour and ornament. These pieces of cloth, decorated with vertical lines or horizontal bands of embroidery, were discovered in the villages of Thailand. Each one is unique.
